about us
Just the 3 of Us was formed due to sheer luck and coincidence. A
random meeting in April 2006 by three members of Brighton Goes
Gospel resulted in an impromptu singalong and the discovery that
their voices blended beautifully. Rehearsals were swiftly arranged
and within weeks the newly-formed female a cappella trio were
invited to sing at a fund-raising benefit for The Cambodia Trust.
They went down a storm and were soon being invited to perform at
weddings and other functions in and around the South-East of England
and even Spain.
These days they can be heard each weekday morning on Brighton's
Juice fm 107.2 as the 'jinglers' on the Breakfast Show with Guy and
Andrea. They are often in demand not only for public concerts and
private events but also for fast and sassy backing vocal
arrangements for songwriters and musicians.
Just
the 3 of Us are: Rachel Manzi (Alto), Siggi Mwasote (Tenor),
Karen Hurley (Soprano)
Karen moved to Brighton 3 years ago after working as a professional
actress in theatre around the UK as well as on television (Holby
City) and radio (BBC Carleton Hobbs Award 2000). She has spent the
last few years teaching in Barcelona, London and Brighton and
working as a session singer. Karen is really proud to be a part of
such a talented group and is grateful to BGG for bringing them
together.
Siggi
was born in London and has been singing all her adult life.
She relocated to Brighton 4 years ago with her daughter Tulia.
Siggi works as a peripatetic vocal and performance coach around the
South East. After many years working with bands Siggi
relishes the opportunity of singing and arranging a cappella music
with two such talented women.
Rachel is a born and bred Brightonian. She has lived in many places
including Amsterdam, Spain, Greece and London but moved back to
Brighton nearly 4 years ago. Rachel is a self employed
consultant and manages Jt3oU. Singing with Jt3oU has helped
Rachel fulfil her dreams and work with 2 of her best friends.
